Born on an Air Force Base in Puerto Rico to parents that worked for the Department of Defense (DOD), she spent her childhood in a foreign country for 8 1/2 to 9 months out of every year including in the countries of Japan, Philippines, and the United Kingdom. Her parents felt traveling provided an education in and of itself, and she had the good fortune to travel the world, visiting Europe, Asia, and Russia. The highlight of her young life was coming home to Texas and California to visit family. She has vivid memories of driving from Killeen to McAllen to visit family with hours of these drives a vision of tumbleweed. She is beyond thrilled to come home with her girls to Central Texas.

A background of scholastic achievement – Dr. Cabret

As a young adult, Dr. Cabret graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wagner High School, a highly academic DOD school in the Philippines. She began her higher studies at the Young Scholars program hosted by the UC System at the University of California, Santa Barbara while she was still technically a high school student.

Education: The journey to excellence

With the highly regarded Regents Academic and athletic scholarships in hand, she started her undergraduate education with a short stint at Arizona State University before transferring and graduating Magna Cum Laude and High Provost Honors in Psychology at Revelle College at the University of California, San Diego. She then went on to earn a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the UCLA School of Dentistry, ranked top three academically in the country.

Leaving UCLA with the Highest Honors, inducted into Omikron Kappa Upsilon – the National Dental Honors Society.

Dr. Cabret became the first female ever to be accepted into the highly prestigious double degree program at the University of Texas, Southwestern School of Medicine.

Dr. Michelle Cabret has over two decades of experience in private practice as a cosmetic surgeon. Her motto is “Beauty and Wellness Perfected,” reflecting her holistic approach to aesthetic medicine, and her belief that beauty and wellness go hand in hand. As one of the few female cosmetic surgeons in the Austin area, she offers a truly feminine approach to breast surgery – a perspective and understanding that male surgeons lack by nature.

She delivers hands-on, focused post-operative care, seeing her surgical patients two to four times in the first two weeks after surgery, with continued check-ins to ensure the recovery is successful and uneventful.

Recently, Dr. Cabret was named as one of the “Top 10 Cosmetic Surgeons” in Austin. She has a long history of honors and accolades, including being the first female to be accepted and excel in the joint program earning her Medical Doctorate (MD) from UT Southwestern, completing UT Southwestern’s Hospital System including Parkland Hospital’s General Surgery Internship, and acting as Chief for multiple hospitals in her 6th and final year of surgery residency.
